Skipper Isuru guides Vidyartha on first innings
Isuru Prabodha, the tall, attacking left-hander and skipper of Vidyartha College made a forceful 76 as he guided his team to a first innings lead of 96 runs over Kingswood College in their match at the Pallekele Stadium.
By the close, Kingswood was bowled out for 145. The target was a mere 50, but time was up. Paceman Dumindu Imantha electrified the spectators with an unbeaten 58. He had two fours and five sixes.
Spinners Lakmal de Silva and Dumindu Danishka took four and five wickets respectively. Danishka top scored with 41 in Kingswood’s second innings, while Achala Bogodawatte and D.W. Kevin entered the twenties.
Off-spinner Kasun Karunatilleke (match bag of 8-78) and left-armer Medunaka Wijetilleka (4-56) tried their best to bring their team victory.
