Boteju, Aslam emerge champions
Two experience cueists in the island –reigning national snooker champion Susantha Boteju of Sea Endless and S.H.M. Aslam of Moors SC emerged champions of the Moors SC Open Invitation Snooker and Billiards tournaments played at the Moors SC billiards table in Colombo yesterday.
Boteju coasted to a convincing five frames to one win over T. Thanji of BRC in the nine frame final while Aslam bagged the billiard title with a close 36 points win against Susantha Wickrama of Army in the two hour final.
In the third place play off of the two tournaments saw M.F.M. Fahim of Moors SC and M.M. Mubeen of Army come out on top against Riyas Noor of Moors SC in the snooker and Prasanna Guruge of Galle in the billiard.
The tournament was organized by the Moors Sports Club in collaboration of the 110th Anniversary celebrations of the club which was formed in the year 1908.

- Snooker:
Final – Susantha Boteju (Sea Endless) beat T. Thanji (BRC) 5-2 (81/44, 85/27, 62/39, 27/63, 66/5, 61/34).
