New office bearers of Photojournalists Association
View(s):The annual general meeting of the Photojournalists Association of Sri Lanka was held at the Public Library recently.
Photojournalists representing print media attended the AGM where the office bearers for 2018/19 were elected.
Daminda Harsha Perera of the Daily FT was elected as president while Kushan Pathiraja of the Daily Mirror was elected as secretary.
J. Weerasekara of Ceylon Today was named as the treasurer. Sujatha Jayarathna of the Divaina newspaper and Saman Sri Vedage of Lake House were elected vice P presidents.
Jude Denzil Pathiraja of Divaina was elected as assistant secretary and Shameera Rajapaksa of the Ada newspaper was elected as Assistant treasurer. The Welfare Secretary for the year was Romesh Danushka Silva of the Lankadeepa.
Majula Dayawansha (Mabwima), Chamila Karunarathna (Rivira), Nirmala Dananjaya (Lanka Woman), Herbert Perera (Lake House), Kamal Bogoda (Divaina), Ruwan Walpola (Daily FT), Hirantha Gunathilaka (Lake House), Shanuka Kulasekara (Sunday Lankadeepa), Pradeep Dilrukshana (Daily Mirror), Pradeep Dabarage of (The Sunday Morning), Tharaka Basnayake (Ceylon Today), Priyantha Wickramaarachchi (the Sunday Times) and Deshan Fernando (Ada) were elected as committee members.
Gamini Abeysekara, Lakshman Gunathilaka, Alexander Balasooriya and Gemunu Wellage were named as patrons.
