Melstacorp manages Joseph Frazer hospital

This is in line with Melstacorp Plc, the parent company of listed liquor producer Distilleries Co, announcing in August that it was entering the healthcare industry, initially setting up diagnostic infrastructure and managing select hospitals.
Insiders told the Business Times that Melsta Health (Pvt.) Ltd negotiated with the Trust that operates Joseph Frazer Hospital and about one year ago took over the management of the hospital.
The Joseph Fraser Memorial Hospital was founded in 1923 by the Joseph Fraser Memorial Trust as a nonprofit hospital in honour of Joseph Fraser who was a planter in Sri Lanka from 1872 to 1913.
