Bohemian Rhapsody, the film on the late Freddie Mercury and the band Queen is to be released next month. The soundtrack will contain 22 tracks and will be available for streaming from 19th October. The soundtrack will also have new music. Queen’s five iconic Live Aid tracks will be on the album. The premiere of the film will take place in London on 23rd October with the global release the following day.

Dua Lipa is to release a deluxe version of her debut self-titled album on 19th October. The BRIT award winning artist will feature three new songs – ‘Want To’, ‘Running’ and ‘Kiss And Make Up’ which is a collaboration with the all-girl K-pop group BLACKPINK. The 23 year old artist’s debut album has topped over 1.2 million copies worldwide and has been certified gold in three countries and platinum in three countries including the UK. Lipa emerged on the scene in 2015, and then scoring her first chart topping song with ‘New Rules’ in 2017. She collaborated with Calvin Harris on another chart topping song ‘One Kiss’ a few months ago. Her newest release ‘Electricity’ is with Mark Ronson, Diplo and Silk City.

Veteran singer Olivia Newton-John is battling cancer for the third time. She told Australian TV on Septembe 9 that she was having a tumour at the bottom of her spine and is taking modern treatment and herbal remedies. In 1993 she was diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2013 she was treated for a tumour in her shoulder and now a tumour at the bottom of her spine.

Calvin Harris & Sam Smith have claimed the UK singles crown with their duet ‘Promises’. The song which was battling for the prime sport with Benny Blanco’s ‘Eastside’ moved up the chart a single slot to help Calvin Harris to join a select group of artist who have all scored 10 and more No: 1 songs in the UK. Heading the list is Elvis Presley who had 21, the Beatles 17, Cliff Richard and Westlife 14 each, Madonna 13, Take That 12 and Calvin Harris 10. The Nu- disco/ dance – pop/ garage house track is written by Sam Smith who is also the vocalist. The other two co writers are Adam Wiles and Jessie Reyez. Calvin Harris is the song producer. ‘Promises’ received a boost ahead of the chart countdown with the release of the accompanying video.

A week after he took everyone by surprise by dropping his new album ‘Kamikaze’ on August 31, US rap star Eminem has many songs either being downloaded or streamed thus squeezing in three tracks to debut on the UK top 10. Because of new chart rules only three songs can debut on the top 10. Hence the highest new entry ‘The Ringer’ entered at No: 4.

The track ‘Lucky You’ featuring fellow rap artist Joyner Lucus debuted at No: 6 while the third song ’Fall’ debuted at No: 9. All three songs have accompanying videos. The album ‘Kamikaze’ meanwhile debuted at the top of the UK album charts giving the 45 year old rapper his ninth consecutive and record breaking fete. He beat the record held jointly by Led Zeppelin and ABBA.
