The Sports Day of Al Awwal School Rajagiriya was held on July 28 at the Hewawitharana Primary School ground. Former 24-time National Karate Champion and South Asian Games Gold Medalist (Gojukai Version), national coach and former national team captain and 5th Dan Black Belt holder H.M.D.R. Kalyana graced the occasion as the chief guest.

The highlight of the event was the awarding of Al Awwal Best Allrounder 2017, the first of its kind was awarded to Salma Jiffry Raheem. The event was graced by parents, teachers, well wishers and management of the school.
