Sunday Times Kumudini Hettiarachchi wins gold at The ‘Top 50′ Professional and Career Women Awards 2018
View(s):The Sunday Times Deputy Editor (News Features) Kumudini Hettiarachchi was awarded Gold in the Media – Print category at The ‘Top 50′ Professional and Career Women Awards 2018 held at the Colombo Hilton on August 7.
Sixty-three women from Sri Lanka and the Maldives were honoured with Gold and Silver awards for excellence in either their chosen career or recognised as inspiring women in their community. Presented by Women In Management (WIM) and the IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, the awards also recognised corporates and other institutions for accomplishments benefiting women.
In a career spanning nearly 40 years, Kumudini has received many prestigious awards including the ‘Mervyn de Silva Journalist of the Year 2003’ in the Editors’ Guild of Sri Lanka Journalism Awards of Excellence, the Reuter Fellowship in 1986/87 and the Dag Hammarskjold Fellowship in 1983.
