Sri Lanka’s first ever dedicated performing arts theatre for cultural entertainment for tourists is gearing up for a musical and dance celebration of Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage from  August 1.

The Sri Dharanee Performing Arts Theatre inaugurated earlier this year, aims to provide a platform for local artistes to portray Sri Lanka’s rich culture, history and traditions to foreign visitors. With 525 well-appointed seats with air conditioning coupled with the scenic beauty of the Diyawanna Oya, the Waters’ Edge recreational complex, restaurants and adjacent shopping attractions, the theatre will help create a tourism enclave in close proximity to Colombo.

A vibrant line up of cultural entertainment featuring traditional Sri Lankan dance forms will be seen in one hour shows from 6 p.m to 7 p.m every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from August 1. The Theatre will also conduct shows on a scheduled basis to accommodate other tourism  requirements with attractive options of food and beverages.

The Sri Dharanee Performing Arts Theatre is  managed by Green Leaves Entertainment (Pvt) Limited.
