The Colombo Academy of Language Skills and Dramatic Art (CALSDA) has made great strides in educating the country’s youth for 18 years.

Beginning with preschoolers, the CALSDA syllabus gradually takes learners through a comprehensive study of the English language and various aspects of speech in performance.

Through a graded series of examinations, CALSDA focuses on the need to assess practical language applications of English. Subsequently it provides students and their teachers a detailed report of assessment, which is a useful record of progress as well as a means of identifying each student’s area of development.

CALSDA also has a meticulous structure for aspiring teachers to gain qualifications in teaching English language and speech and drama.

Its Panel of Examiners which is headed by Executive Director Varuni Jayasekara and Director of Examinations Zulfika Musafer also comprises educationists and other Board of Management members Lakshmi Jeganathan,   Rajini Francis, Marini De Livera, Shereen Gunasekara and Arundathi Chandrathilaka.

For more information please contact the CALSDA general office at No. 77A, Fife Road, Colombo 5, where teacher-support material, past papers and workbooks are on sale as well as the latest edition of the CALSDA syllabus.
