A Science Channel over SLBC: Dr Amunugama
View(s):A proposal to have a Science Channel over the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) was discussed between Science, Technology, Research, Skills Development & Kandyan Heritage Minister Dr Sarath Amunugama and SLBC Chairman S. Farook and SLBC Working Director M.J.R.David.
Dr Amunugama, who is also an authority on Mass Communication, advised the officials as to how the venture could be initiated and stressed the need to inculcate a scientific culture within Sri Lanka’s people, a press release from the Ministry said. He requested for an early report on the proposed project.
“The Minister pointed out that, through this project, it would be possible to initiate a significant positive change in the thinking of the people,” the release said.
