In celebration of its 10th Anniversary, one of Sri Lanka’s best known wedding magazines, ‘Brides of Sri Lanka’, hosted an evening of cocktails on April 8, at the Galle Face Hotel Ballroom. The event brought together leading names in the wedding and fashion industry as well as all those who supported the magazine over the years, including their first clients and advertisers. Among the invitees was the first recipient of the magazine at its launch, Ramani Fernando; its first customer, Rohan De Mel; its first cover girl Rozelle Plunkett; and its first photographer Dimitri Crusz.

Launched in 2007 by Nelum Haththella, its editor and managing director, the magazine has seen immense growth over that past decade. No longer confined to just Sri Lanka, the magazine is now distributed in over five countries and can be viewed worldwide through its mobile app. The magazine has also expanded its services through its website www.bridesofsrilanka.com, which is a wedding directory and information portal for everything wedding related.

Colombo Mayor Rosy Senanayake was the chief guest at the event and also the chief guest at the first bridal show organized by the magazine. Congratulating the editor of Brides of Sri Lanka for reaching this milestone, she said ten years of hard work by the hands-on editor has certainly paid dividends.
