Richmond crushed Mahanama Colombo by nine wickets in the pre-quarter final encounter of the Under 19 Division One limited over tournament played at Galle yesterday.

Richmond after bowling out their opponents for a low score of 101 needed just 14 overs to reach the target and to qualify to the quarter finals. In the Division Two pre-quarter final match played at Karandeniya saw Karandeniya Central recording a comfortable three wicket victory.

Meanwhile half tons by K.K. Kevin and Hansika Welihinda helped Mahinda make a formidable score of 313 for 6 declared against Dharmaraja who ended day one 25 for 2.

Mahinda dominate drawn game at Galle

Mahinda Galle dominated proceedings in their drawn Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter against Dharmaraja concluded at Galle yesterday. The highlights of the match were the half tons scored by Mahindians K.K. Kevin and Hansika Welihinda in the first inning which helped Mahinda post a formidable score of 313 for 6 declare. Hansika ended the match with his second half ton with Vinura Dulsara making the other half ton.

Mahinda 313 for 6 declared (K.K. Kevin 83, Hansika Welihinda 72, Vinura Dulsara 39, Kavindu Ediriweera 38, Reshan Kavinda 38) and 115 for 2 declared (Vinura Dulsara 59, Hansika Welihinna 54 n.o.)
