South Asian Educationists discuss importance of IT in Education

South Asian Educationists met in Colombo last week to discuss the importance of Information Technology in the field of Education.
Sri Lanka hosted the 2-day “South Asia Regional Symposium on ICT for Education (SARSIE)” held at Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo. It was organised by UNESCO and the Asian Development Bank, and was attended by School Education, Higher Education and Professional Education experts from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives and Bangladesh.

Among topics discussed were the use of IT in Education in South Asia and drafting of related State policies, Development of IT skills and its challenges, as well as the use of IT in Teaching and Learning process.
