All those who received services for a fee from all state agencies will have to pay 15 per cent more than what they have been paying three years ago, according to instructions circulated among all state agencies, by the Secretary to the Treasury.

The Circular No 1/2018 of 17/1/2018, issued by the Secretary to the Treasury to all Ministries, Provincial Councils and District Secretariats, stipulates that the charges for the services rendered by state institutions should be revised by 15 per cent, if they have not been revised for the last three years and the mode of revision should be communicated to the Treasury Secretary through the Director General, Finance Division, General Treasury by February 15.

While the revision should be made to cover the administrative expenses of the institutions providing the service, it should also be affordable to the persons who receive the services. If during the last three years any revisions have been made, and if that revision is less than 15 per cent, the balance proportion should be adjusted to formulate 15 per cent.
