It’s that time of year when shopping and seasonal fun predominate. Back this year, even bigger and more exciting is the British School Christmas Carnival, that will be held on Saturday, December 9 from 2 p.m to 8 p.m at the British School Colombo (BSC) premises, 63, Elvitigala Mawatha, Colombo 8.

The carnival is annually organised by the BSC Parent Teachers Association (PTA). A range of handicrafts, Christmas decor, gift items, food delicacies, home baked cakes, clothing and much more will be available at the carnival that will also feature stalls from local vendors, a fantastic food court, fun games and activities, also an exciting raffle draw.

Dr. John Scarth, Principal of the British School Colombo states that the Christmas carnival would be a fantastic event where everyone could simply visit and have fun. “We have always been very successful and have about 3000 people coming each year not only from the school but the public as well,” he says.

“Each year the PTA tries to make the event better and this year is going to be the best ever,” assures Dr. Scarth.

The organising committee is eagerly looking forward to another successful Christmas Carnival and expects a large number of visitors. “This year, our theme for the carnival would be “Winter Wonderland”, so the decor would be mostly of snowflakes which is done by the PTA. The art works, banners and posters are done by the school’s Art Department,” says Vindy De Silva, President of the PTA on the preparations now in full swing.

The event is sponsored and partnered by Ekroma Realtors, Keangnam Enterprises, Universal College Lanka (UCL), Darwish Trading, CHEC Port City Colombo, the Sunday Times, Daily Mirror and Daily FT as media partners, Kiss FM as the radio partner and Softwave as the printing partner.

Tickets for the carnival priced at Rs.200 are now available at the gate. Children below five years could walk in free.
