MAS Shadeline overcome HSBC 28-14
MAS Shadeline beat HSBC 28-14 in the Mercantile League Netball ‘C’ Division Final at the Sports Ministry ground, Torrington Square yesterday.
The tournaments are being conducted by the Mercantile Netball Association. Over 30 teams took part in the tournament.
The tournament is being conducted in five categories. Omega Line and MAS Sleekline have qualified for D division semi-finals. In the other semi-final Brandix will clash with WNS. Both semi-finals will be worked off this morning from 9 am onwards at the Sports Ministry ground.
In the Mixed semi-final Seylan Bank, HNB, Nations Trust Bank (NTB) and Citizens Development Bank have qualified. In the first semi-final Seylan Bank will meet NTB. The other semi-final will be between HNB and Citizens Development Bank (CDB).
In a Group ‘A’ match played yesterday HNB beat CDB by 58 goals to 12; Seylan Bank beat Expo Lanka 55-38.
The matches between Expo Lanka and HNB and Seylan and CDB were scheduled to be played yesterday.
In Group ‘B’ NTB overcame Sampath Bank 17-15; Commercial Bank beat Singer 38-17; Sampath Bank overcame Singer 22-9; Commercial Bank beat NTB 29-19. Two league games are to be played in this group between Sampath vs Commercial Bank and NTB vs Singer.
The finals will be played today at 3 pm after completing the morning matches.
Several national level players are taking part in this competition.
