Goal hat-tricks by Kavindu and Anthony

Kavindu Ishan of Sri Lanka Air Force and Anthony Arinze of New Youngs SC accounted for hat-tricks in the Dialog Champions League Stage Eight football games played yesterday.

Kavindu Ishan scored the hat-trick against Up Country Lions at the Baddegana Sports Complex. Air Force won the match by six goals to one. Kavindu Ishan scored the goals in the 38th, 55th and 56th minutes. The other goals were netted in by Nuwan Welagamage in the second minute. H.A.H.D. Chandraratne scored an own goal in the 24th minute. The other goal for Air Force was booted in by Devendra Bandara.

Rohana Fernando scored an own goal in the 68th minute for the Up Country Lions.

The other hat-trick was in the New Youngs vs Police game at Police Park when Anthony Arinze booted in the goals in the eighth minute, 29th minute and 55th minutes. The first goal for New Youngs was scored by Harsha Viduranga in the sixth minute. The last three goals were scored by U. Chimezie (in the 62nd and 89th minutes). Hasitha Priyankara scored in the 80th minute.

Super Sun overcame Negombo Youth 2-0 at the Vernon Fernando Stadium Kalutara. The goals were scored by Afiz Olayemi (in the 4th minute) and E.B. Channa in 12th minute.

Today there are five games. They are — Java Lane vs Colombo FC at City League, Renown vs Matara City at Matara City grounds, Blue Star vs Pelicans at Kalutara Vernon Fernando Stadium, Navy vs Crystal Palace at Welisara and Saunders vs Solid SC at Kelaniya.
