The Sinhala and Tamil New Year will be celebrated across all the Cinnamon resorts, and guests can enjoy a delicious traditional yet novel feast along with the many culturally inspired events and games throughout the day.

Habarana Village by Cinnamon and Cinnamon Lodge will present scrumptious traditional and trendy Avurudu buffets in keeping with the rich flavour of the Cultural Triangle. Guests will have a wide range of Sri Lankan delicacies to choose from and enjoy culinary  treats including chocolate lavariya and jakfruit fritters. Cinnamon Wild Yala will host a rustic yet chic new year celebration with an Avurudhu Ambula surrounded by the thrills and beauty of the wildlife bordering the property.

Bentota Beach by Cinnamon will be converted into an Andarawatta comprising a Pansala, Arachchi Gedera, Gama  Gedara, Kopi Kade, Kammala and the Kamatha. Activities such as playing the Rabana and singing the Raban Padha, lighting the traditional oil lamp, feasting on Rasa Kavili and participating in Avurudhu Kreeda are all lined up for guests who attend.

Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon will host their annual Avurudu Asiriya with many traditional games and events for kids and adults alike. The most anticipated event of the day would be the crowning of the Avurudu Kumaraya and Kumariya.

Cinnamon Bey Beruwela, also welcomes everyone to their Avurudu cove to be treated to tantalizing local dishes with a modern twist along with a plethora of activities to further brighten the dawn of the new year.

The beauty of Sri Lanka’s multicultural element is in full swing this year, with Trinco Blu by Cinnamon inviting its guests to indulge in the treats and sweets of its ‘Soorya Mangalya’, celebrating the new year along with the colour and conventions of Tamil customs and rites. Cinnamon Citadel Kandy situated in the core of Sinhalese tradition and heritage will celebrate the new year keeping to all the rituals bestowed from the time of the royals.
