On  February 18, the students of the British School Colombo celebrated arts, colour and creativity with “Dali and Frida” an artistic show and competition, that showcased six talented young designers and over 500 young particants exploring fashion and the visual and performing arts.

The event was organised by the BSC Arts Society, shining a spotlight on the artistic talents of the students. Under the direction of teacher in charge- Himaya Jayatilleke the six designers and budding young models received the “how-to’s”  in design and choreography through workshops and training programmes. Taking the ramp for the first time, each finalist paid homage to an iconic artist. From dreamy Van Gogh inspired floral prints to colourful combinations echoing Paul Gaugin’s experimental use  of colour, “Dali and Frida” was a night dedicated to imagination, experimentation and the passion for art.
