Rehan’s ‘Elephant’ in London competition

The debut film of Rehan Mudannayake ‘Elephant’ has been nominated for three awards at the International Filmmaker’s Festival of World Cinema in London starting from tomorrow.

The film has been nominated for the Best direction, Best Editing and Best Supporting actress (Kaushalaya Fernando).

Others in the cast include Jehan Mendis and Anjela Seneviratne and Ruwin de Silva.

The film will be screened on February 13 and the award ceremony will be on February 18.

The film earlier won the silver award at a film festival in Jakarta.

‘Elephant’ revolves around a young man who goes down south to clean up the house of his aunt who had passed away recently. There he discovers some postcards which gives an opening for the short movie.
