Oshin is coming to Colombo! If that’s a reason to want to witness the Japan Expo Premier Sri Lanka this year where about 30 companies  would be participating and the embassy partnering to promote their food, culture and entertainment, visitors to BMICH can meet the renowned actress in person.

The Japan Sri Lanka Expo Premier 2017 will be held from February 3-5 with the embassies of Sri Lanka in Tokyo and Japan in Colombo together with JETRO Colombo, JICA Sri Lanka, Japan Foundation and the Japanese Red Cross Society.

During the Expo exhibition 30 Japanese companies would participate and hold meetings with Sri Lankan businesses.

The cultural exhibition would showcase Oshin, the well-known teledrama series that was successfully aired in Sri Lanka that today has been converted to a feature film with the main character portrayed by Ayako Kobayashi as a young girl would be present at the exhibition for one day of the event to talk and meet with locals.

Sumo wrestlers from Japan and dance performers as Samurais were present at the media conference held at the Japanese Embassy to announce the exhibition.

The exhibition would also showcase the Japanese food, works from Japanese cinema for both adults, family and children; in addition to entertainment acts; and an art workshop where the Japanese art of flower arrangement and bonsai would be made available alongside the traditional Japanese tea ceremony.
