The producer, director and even the cast were worried about  the financial success of the film amidst the currency crisis in India. The demonetisation move affected a number of films which hit the theatres before November 9.

“It’s very relieving that the film is getting such a great response. We all were very worried about it. But, I think if a film is good, it will always do well,” film’s main female star Alia Bhatt who made her first ever collaboration with superstar Shah Rukh Khan told Indian media.

“May be it must have hit us about 5-10 per cent but still it’s getting a lot of love. And, I feel very grateful. I’m really happy,” she said.

Revolving around a young, lively and fabulous girl, who falls in love thrice–each time, she gets a different perspective on life, ‘Dear Zindagi’ (Dear Life) is a Hindi movie directed by Gauri Shinde.

Produced by Gauri Khan, Karan Johar and Shinde under the banners of Red Chillies Entertainment, Dharma Productions and Hope Productions respectively, the film features Ira Dubey, Kunal Kapoor, Angad Bedi and Ali Zafar in supporting roles.
