Clean Bandit the electropop group has seen the departure of its first member recently. Neil Amin-Smith announced he had left the award winning band on 19th October and he wished the band well. His departure was confirmed by the group as the too reciprocated the same for Neil in a statement. Amin- Smith had been with Clean Bandit from its inception four years ago. The group has not recruited any new member as yet and now comprises Grace Chatto, Jack Patterson and Luke Patterson. The band released their new single ‘Rockabye’ featuring Sean Paul and Anne-Marie on 21st October.

Chuck Berry the father of rock ‘n’ roll will release a new album after 37 years. Berry who turned 90 on 18th October, is best known for the popular songs such as ‘Roll Over Beethoven’, ‘Rock & Roll Music’, ’Johnny B Goode’, ‘Maybellene’ and ‘Sweet Little Sixteen’. He has written and produced all the songs for the album called ‘Chuck’ which is dedicated to his wife of 68 years Themetta. The new album is due in 2017.

There seems to be some good news for pop singer Kesha who is battling to get out of a record contract with her former producer Dr. Luke. Sony Music has announced she is working on a new album which should be released soon. Kesha’s lawyers have revealed the 29 year old has an uphill struggle, but has managed to send 28 new songs to Sony Music as the singer wants to get a new album and single out soon.

The all girl pop group Little Mix have scored a No:1 on the UK singles chart with ‘Shout Out To My Ex’. There is no confirmation if the song is connected to group member Perrie Edwards’ break up with former boyfriend Zayn Malik. The pop track was released on 14th October and the all girl group made their first live performance during the results on X-Factor on 15th October. At the time the chart count was taken ‘Shout Out To My Ex’ had a combined sale of 95,000 copies enabling the song to debut straight at the No:1 spot on the UK Singles chart. This is the fourth UK chart topping song for Little Mix following ‘Cannonball’ (2011), ‘Wings’ (2012),and ‘Black Magic’ (2015). Also the current his the quartet’s ninth top 10 UK hit song. ‘Shout Out To My Ex’ is taken from the new Little Mix album ‘Glory Days’ that is due on 18th November. The song is penned by Edvard Forre Erfjord and Henrik Michelsen (both Norwegians), Iain James, Camille Purcell and jointly by the group members Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwal.

Advancing up the chart over to the UK top 10 is the US actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld with Grey (a duo) and featuring the Russian – German DJ Zedd. Their song ‘Starving’ staged a climb from 17 to No: 5. It is the debut hit for the 19 year old Steinfeld. The EDM track has soft guitar start which keeps going as a mellow dance tune takes over.
