The Agalawatte Plantations PLC (Agalawatte) share sale drama has taken a fresh and more intriguing turn with Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board (SLAASMB) ordering Agalawatte to re-audit its 2014 accounts and circulate it to all parties who got that year’s annual report.  This directive which was published on the Colombo Stock Exchange’s website on Friday was copied to the Securities and Exchange Commission, Corporate Secretaries Ltd, Agalawatte’s Auditors, Hulugalle Samarasinghe and Company.  This has come on the back of Agalawatte’s new owners, the Browns Group doing its own liability audit of the company. Brown’s sources said that they have appointed a joint CEO for the company, Anusha Perera to manage the operation but is waiting for their own audit to finish before appointing any director to the Agalawatte board.    (DEC)
