All-new BMW 7 Series unveiled in Colombo

The all-new BMW 7 Series made its entry into Sri Lanka recently introducing iDrive operating system, the electronic speedometer; Park Distance Control and brand new technology to the local luxury car market, Prestige Automobile, Chairman/Managing Director of Prestige Automobile Heinz Reuter announced at the unveiling ceremony of two new BMW variants in Colombo recently.  The other special features of the car included a carbon core to reduce overall weight by up to 130 kg, a full suite of innovations entailing Touch Command, Gesture Control, sky lounge with panorama glass roof and laser lights that increase range up to 600 metres.

The most innovative car in its class at the World Luxury Car Awards 2016, the All-new 7 series BMW, builds on BMW’s 100 year legacy and its next 100 year vision, he pointed out. “It is truly a masterpiece from BMW and probably the best car BMW has ever built, he claimed adding that it has set benchmarks for the cars of today.”  He said, “Due to the intelligent lightweight engineering that has at its centre a carbon core body structure which is a transfer of technology from the development of the BMW i8, the all-new BMW 7 series is the first car in its segment to reduce weight by upto 130 kg compared to previous generation counterparts”.
