Matale Hospital Doctors XI led by Sudath Inamaluwa beat Polonnaruwa Hospital Doctors XI by 7 wickets to register their second consecutive win in the 6th Annual Limited Overs (40) cricket encounter played at Dambulla International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, May 29.  Elected to bat first Polonnaruwa Doctors XI scored 224 all out in 39 overs with Indranath top scored with 75. Dinesh bowled well to grab 4 wickets for 25. Matale Doctors in their run chase reached the target in the 35th over with 7 wickets in hand. Shasika and Buddhika were unbeaten with 77 and 55 respectively. Shasika was named the man-of-the-match. Dinesh of Matale Doctors XI, who returned impressive figures 4 for 25 won the award for the best bowler while the best batsman’s award went to Indranath of Polonnaruwa Doctors team, who top scored with 75. With this win, Matale Doctors lead the series with 3 against 2 by Polonnaruwa Doctors, with one being ended in a no decision.
