15-month-old unattended girl drowns in pond at home
View(s):A 15-month-old infant drowned in a pond in its house in Wellawatte, the Coroner’s court was told this week.
The infant, Nathisha Munsoor, had fallen into the pond about 3.5 ft in depth, without anybody noticing it.
On that particular day, Nathisha had been playing with her mother’s sisters who had come from Dickwella. After a while the aunts had gone upstairs leaving the infant behind, resulting in the infant falling into the pond.
The infant was pronounced dead on admission.
