April 24 was a special day for Dr. Theshanka Amarasinghe, 30, a General Practitioner in the UK, as she completed the London Marathon in support of the Parkinson’s Disease charity

Runners taking part in this iconic marathon which starts from Greenwich Park, go past all of London’s greatest landmarks such as Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, Tower of London, Tate Modern, London Eye and Houses of Parliament before finishing along The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace.

Theshanka completed the arduous journey of 42.195 kilometres (26 miles 384 yards), determined to support a cause that she believed in.
