Fazil and Shamil qualify for U-21 Asian Championship
Army’s M.F.M. Fazil emerged champion of the Under-21 Snooker Nationals when he defeated M. Shamil of MICH by four frames to one in the seven frame final played at the Otters AC billiards table in Colombo.

Fazil had little difficulty in brushing off the challenge of his opponent as he took an early three frame lead while conceeding the fourth before sealing the game in his favour with a win in the fifth frame.
In the third place playoff saw a battle between two Army cueists which ended in a win for M.S.M. Rasheed.
The Under 21 snooker nationals was also a selection tournament where the winner and runner up will represent Sri Lanka at the forthcoming Under 21 Asian Snooker Championship due to be held in Sri Lanka in March.
Apart from the two players, two more players from Sri Lanka would get wild cards and the selectors of the Sri Lanka Billiards and Snooker Association has not decided the two players.
