Another musical extravaganza by Prestantia Music School
View(s):“Prestantia Musica 2015” will go on the boards on October 18, at 6 p.m. at the Tourist Board Auditorium, Colombo 3, presented by the students of Prestantia Music School, Moratuwa.
“Prestantia Musica 2015” will showcase musical selections in Piano, Vocals, Violin and Guitar, presented by over 100 students. The show is directed by Dr. Priyeshni Peiris Perera, who holds a doctorate in Western Music from the U.S.A.
The concert will include repertoires from timeless Broadway Musicals and popular themes from movie favourites of The Phantom of the Opera, The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Fiddler on the Roof, Pinnochio, Star Wars to name a few, to be showcased by students as young as three years old in group settings in Piano, Voice (Singing), Guitar and Violin.
In the 2014 production, this event showcased a unique feature where for the first time in Sri Lanka, Prestantia Musica featured “Piano Ensemble Music.”
A multiple number of students stepped up on stage to make joyful music together on multiple pianos, all at the same time! This is a concept introduced by Dr. Priyeshni Peiris-Perera.
