The inaugural Hockey Carnival organised by the past hockey players of S. Thomas’ College, S. Peter’s College and Trinity College will take place at the S. Thomas’ College Junior grounds on September 12, 2015 commencing at 8.30 a.m.

Past hockey players of the three institutions have rallied together in organising this TPT Hockey Carnival and hockey is a game that was played at this schools for decades and have produced many national players. The motive of organising the tournament is for the well being of the game as a sport and to maintain stronger ties between the three schools. In this inaugural year S. Thomas’ College will host and will be an annual event in the future and to be hosted by one of the sponsoring schools. This annual event will be a reunion of past hockey players of the three schools and will be also an old boys get-together.

As a Corporate Social Responsibility project (CSR) the organisers are planning to sponsor three hockey players from each school in order to purchase hockey equipment. Food and recreational stalls will be available for families and children of the old boys to make a fun filled family event.

The tournament will be conducted in four age categories – 1st Eleven Teams from three schools, 20 to 30, 30 to 40 and over 40 groups. It will be a rare occasion where over 40 hockey players of the schools will be in action to show their love for the game. Trophies will be presented for winners of each category which were donated by Mario Joseph and Godwin Solomans (20-30 category), challenge shield donated by Old Trinitians Sports Club (30 to 40 category) and a challenge shield will be donated by Dr. Sarath de Alwis Seneviratne for over 40 category. A special TPT trophy donated by past hockey players of the three schools will be presented to the 1st XI winning team along with certificates.
