The Whyteleafe Performing Arts Academy will be holding a series of special workshops on performing arts for children during the August school holidays. These workshops will cover a wide ranging scope including acting, singing, dancing, speech, leadership development and other activities geared at leveraging performing arts for the personality development of children.

This programme will be for children between 5 to 14 years, with the workshop being conducted separately for groups of 5-8 year olds and 9-14 year olds. The workshops will be held on 10th, 11th, 31st August and 1st September at the Whyteleafe Performing Arts Academy premises at Thilaka Gardens, Nugegoda.

The Whyteleafe Performing Arts Academy was founded in 2011 by award-winning dramatist and journalist Nalaka Swarnathilake, who is the creator behind successful children’s productions like Dangamalla, Anne, Mama Wenama Malak and Pini Poda Wessak.

It was the first institute in Sri Lanka that was started with the intent of using drama, dancing, singing and other aspects of the performing arts to develop the personality of the children. Students enrolled in the Academy get the opportunity to participate in dramas and other creative productions.
