Lyceum excel in swimming
View(s):The 42nd Sri Lanka Schools Age Group Aquatic Championships 2015 organised by the Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Association took place at the Sugathadasa Stadium Swimming Complex recently.
In this four day event nearly 146 schools took part Lyceum International Schools excelled in the Boys Junior category with 124.5 points and in the Girls’ Junior category with 81 points.
The Lyceum swimming squad consisted of Chanulka Panadura, Janindu Gangahagedara, Sasindu Kaluarachchi, Tevan Talagalage, Chris Pavithra, Savin Kaluarachchi, Arkhash Saravanakumar, Nadiv Herath, Methya Weerakody, Yana Hettigedara, Vilara Ranasinghe, Kethaki Wijayasuriya,, Sanuldi De Silva, Methuki Gunawardana, Umeja Ranasinghe, Onelli Yahampath, Dinithi Peries, Komudi Pinnedoowa, Ovin Gamage, Sachin Kaluarachchi, Sanuk Pieris, Samindra Banu, Yenuka Gunetilake, Lavanya Wijegunetileka, Anuji Dias, Senanya Jayatileka, Akshi Suppiah, Kashmin Wijeyasekera, Janith Wickremanayake, Ashoka Jayawardena, Prasad Kanchana, Samith Nuwan, Suresh Silva and Gihan Jayaprasad.
The Lyceum swimmers were coahced by Nishantha Perera, who is also the Deputy Director of Sports in addition to acting as the Head Coach while Indika Hewage acts as his assistant.
The swimmers recieve great supports from school authorities Nikitha Grero (Director), Wenuri Hettiarachchi (Principal), Kumari Vandort (Assistant to Deputy Director of Sports cum Asst. TIC Swimming), Nelum Priyadarshani (TIC Swimming) and Sameera Pathum (Sports Coordinator).
