Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) will re-launch the MICE Tourism Research Bulletin which has been compiled after a lapse of almost six years.
The latest findings will be made available to industry members shortly, a media release issued by the bureau stated.

‘This took us nearly one year and our Research manager was visiting MICE industry members personally to get information. Collecting MICE statistics is a global issuewith Conference figures getting diluted in business traffic while Incentives are counted as Leisure,” says the bureau’s CEO Vipula Wanigasekera.

‘The statistics help us to understand where we are and what we ought to be doing in the coming years. MICE is not just one product but has components- Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conferences Exhibitions and Events call for different strategies so we have been able to separate them in our study to know where our strengths and weaknesses are,” Mr. Wanigasekera explained.

Research Manager Ms Iyroshi Jayawardena will present the findings to the industry before the end of this month and the notice to this effect will be issued shortly, the release stated.
