“The Department of State’s Bureau of Consumer Affairs is experiencing technical problems with its visa system restricting U.S. embassies from printing ‘most nonimmigrant visas and process online applications submitted after June 8, 2015’,” stated a media release from the U.S. Embassy in Colombo on Friday (19).

“Colombo visa applicants with June appointments, who completed their online applications after June 8, are encouraged to reschedule their interviews at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/lk/,” it said.

The note further stated that the issue is not specific to any particular country or visa category, and apologised for the inconvenience caused while, “we are working urgently to correct the problem and restore full operability.”

Colombo visa applicants should monitor the embassy’s website athttp://srilanka.usembassy.gov/ or their Facebook page for updates. Assistance for rescheduling is available by calling 011 7 703 703 between 8 am and 8 pm on weekdays, or emailing support-srilanka@ustraveldocs.com.
