‘Dhwani 2015’: Festival of dance and drums

‘Dhwani 2015’, organized by the Oriental Dance Society of Bishops College, was successfully held at the College auditorium on the 23rd of January 2015, with the participation of over 200 students. The audience, graced by the presence of Ms. Ianthie Perera, witnessed a colourful evening of dancing, music and drumming.

The evening also comprised of guest performances by the Hewisi bands of St. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia, Trinity College – Kandy and Methodist College.  The President of the Oriental Dance Society, Manisha Ratnayake, the Secretary, Purani Galloluwe, along with the College Bandleader, Chamathi de Alwis, took the initiative of organizing the event.

‘We have to be thankful for the support rendered by the Principal Ms. Sharmila Gunatilleke, the Vice Principal Ms. Chemali Herath and especially the teacher in charge of the society, P.W.T.Dian’ said the head of the organizing board.
