It’s the season to be jolly….you know where we’re going with this. The Christmas season has begun which can only mean one thing-carols, carols everywhere! Like it or not, the carols will follow you wherever you go for the next month so if you can’t beat them-join them. Here’s a rundown on three of the many carol services and Christmas shows that will happen this season. In addition, almost every major church will have their own service, so if you’re unable to make it for these make sure you catch your local church’s session of festive music. After all, there’s nothing like music to herald in the Christmas season.

S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia
Annual carol service; today December 7, School Chapel,

The Victoria Chorale

6 p.m. onwards
This is a tradition over 60 years in the making, and it is customary for the congregation to assemble at the Chapel of the Transfiguration the first Sunday of December for a service that is both comfortingly familiar and delightfully festive. The Thomian choir will assemble to deliver a service that will blend the traditional composers with the modern, says this year’s organisers. The event is open to anyone-entrance is free.
