Eighteen teams for WPCA Div: III knock out

Eighteen teams will be seen in action when the Division III Knockout Cricket Tournament conducted by the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCS) on behalf of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) for 2014 commences on Saturday, July 26 at various venues in Colombo.

At the briefing for the officials of the participating clubs held at SLC Headquarters on Tuesday, Anura de Silva, treasurer and chairman of the tournament committee of the WPCA said that all clubs have received the rules under which the tournament will b conducted and no rule will be bent under any circumstance. Any player of a team violating a rule will be suspended from the tournament as well as the entire team.

The tournament is schedule to end on Sunday, August 31.

Of the 18 teams, Kalutara District CA and Ratnapura District will be fielding two teams each.

The rest of the teams are – Old Thurstanites, Liberty CC, University of Moratuwa, Old Wesleyites, Bloomfield C and AC, Lankan Warriors, Ratmalana CC, Ganemulla CC, Greenfield CC, Suhada CC, Melbourne CC, Chilaw CC and Love Birds CC.
