ABU RadioAsia2014 – Driven by the power of words

View(s):

The power of words to tell stories on radio will be a central theme of a special workshop at the forthcoming ABU RadioAsia2014 conference in Sri Lanka. The workshop by Wolfram Tech of BCI Media Experts, Germany, will kick off the Asia-Pacific’s premier regional radio forum, being held in Colombo from 22-24 May 2014. Organisers expect 40 eminent speakers from around the world to take part in two workshops and eight conference sessions on radio content, its future and how the radio industry should position itself in the media landscape.

“When listeners say ‘What a great story I’ve just heard on radio,’ that’s the greatest compliment a radio presenter could get,” says the ABU’s Senior Officer for Radio, Mrs Vijay Sadhu. In Mr Tech’s opening workshop, radio broadcasters will learn how to make the message relevant, how to create a perfect dramaturgy and how to present in a natural way.

The ABU’s main conference partners and sponsors include: Commercial Radio Australia, World DMB, The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission of Thailand, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU),  Asia Radio Today, MBC and MTV Sri Lanka. More information on the conference, including registration and accommodation booking, can be found through www.radioasia.org or by contacting Mrs Sadhu at Vijay.s@abu.org.my.
