SLSI appoints new Deputy Director General
View(s):Gamini Dharmawardena, Director (Product Certification) of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) has been appointed as its new Deputy Director General.
Mr. Dharmawardena has been at the SLSI since 1984 and has held different posts within the institution.
He holds a BSc in Natural Science (Honours) from the University of Colombo and a Masters in Polymer Engineering from the University of Moratuwa as well as a post-graduate diploma in management from the Open University of Sri Lanka. He had his early education at Rahula College, Matara and Ananda College, Colombo.
He is a senior member of the American Society for Quality Control and member of the Rubber and Plastics Institute, Environmental Systems Users and Promoters Association and the SLAAS. He is a council member of the Consumer Affairs Authority.
