High-tech UltraTech assures top quality cement

In a media announcement, the company said its state-of-the-art in-house laboratory conducts complete analyses about the physical and chemical status of cement that comes and goes out of the plant for quality standards. “This laboratory, which is the only laboratory of its kind owned by a Sri Lankan bulk cement terminal company, checks samples on a regular basis to ensure consistency of the quality at different stages. As a result, ‘initial receipt testing’ and ‘receipt composite cement testing’ are carried out continuously on all the shipments that are reaching the plant on an on-going basis,” the company said.
The laboratory facility is covered with important certifications such as Quality Management System (ISO 9001), Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) and OHSAS (18001) in addition to the product certification scheme granted by SLSI.
Apart from the regular quality checks done in-house, UltraTech does continuous laboratory tests with reputed national level institutions in Sri Lanka such as Industrial Testing Institute (ITI), Road Development Authority, National Building Research Laboratory and University of Peradeniya, etc for further verifications on quality.
UltraTech Cement is the largest cement manufacturer in India with an annual capacity of 54 million tonnes.
