Manjuladevi from Point Pedro is also among the numerous visitors looking for belongings of their loved ones. Her mother, Mallikadevi was on the fateful flight with her brother, who was to go to Saudi Arabia for employment.

The flight was shot down by the LTTE, shortly after it took off from the Palaly airport on September 9, 1998. The Sri Lanka Navy salvaged the wreckage of the flight last year. Clothes and parts of skeletal remains recovered from the site is on display at Jaffna Municipal Council grounds till today evening.
