The Artillery Regiment of the Sri Lanka Army beat Sri Lanka Light Infantry Unit in the final of the Inter-Regiment Volleyball Championship of the Sri Lanka Army which held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo last week. Prior to the main final, Gajaba Regiment and Sri Lanka Engineers battled out for supremacy in the Division ‘A’ final. Gajaba Regiment snatched a deserving victory after a tensed battle. Thousands of Army recruits gathered to witness the finals of the Sri Lanka Army Inter-Regimental Volleyball finals. The tournament which had a smooth following was organised and conduced by the Sri Lanka Army Volleyball Committee headed by Major General Boniface Perera. Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army was the chief guest at the final super league encounter. – NA
