Club Palm Bay comes alive with the De Lanerolle Bros
The idyllic 4 star Club Palm Bay Resort off Thoduwawa in Thalavila Wella hosted the De Lanerolle Brothers in Concert recently. The stage was set with high tech lights of a myriad colours revolving in their axis softly illuminating the hall.
Right on the stroke of 7.30 p.m, the De Lanerolle Brothers strode their way into the Grand Ballroom, singing through the aisle to climb the few steps to the stage. The performance that lasted approximately 90 scintillating minutes was mesmerizing.
What was striking about the performance was the perfect lyrical harmony and smooth blending of mellifluous voices to back up tracks provided by their technical expert Gerry. The entire show was well orchestrated -during the closing stages they sang their way amongst the tables, mingling with diners who loved their close presence and caressing voices. They also acceded to crowd requests singing the evergreen Sinhala song Master Sir to a special track that comprised musical notes of all three previous versions sung by various artists.
Ishan De Lanerolle lamented towards the end of the show, that although the brothers have been having success internationally they had not been able to cater much to their local fans. This show would kick-off a countrywide tour they are contemplating of the major cities of our island.
Club Palm Bay’s General Manager Rohan Gamage, Sales Manager Ms Sandy Wanniarachchi and the Director Operations Nishada Periyapperuma of the Fort Hotels Group had done much behind the scenes in arranging an unforgettable musical evening.
