St. Michael’s and All Angel’s Polwatte celebrates patronal festival
View(s):September 29 is the Festival of St Michael and All Angels and churches all over the world dedicated to St Michael, celebrate their patronal festival at this time. The Church at Polwatte, Colombo 3 dedicated to St Michael and all Angels keeps its 126th Anniversary this year.
St. Michael and All Angel’s Polwatte, Colombo 3 will have a Choral Festal Evensong on September 29 at 6 p.m. The Introit is by Sumsion and the Anthems are by Joseph Haydn and Earnest Bullock.The Canticles in B flat are by Charles Stanford interspersed by Hymns for Michaelmas for Choir and Congregation.
The Choir will be under the direction of Dr. Lalith Perera. The Festival will be preceded by a short organ recital by organist Denham Pereira.
