MFA to felicitate Jagath Chamila
View(s):Young actor Jagath Chamika who was recently won the prestigious ‘Best Actor ‘ award at the New York City International Film Festival is to be felicitated at the Moratuwa mega musical concert 2013 which is organised by the Moratuwa Arts Forum.
Jagath Chamila who is also a member of Moratuwa Arts Forum (MAF) won the award for his role as Samy in the film ‘Sameege Kathawa’ (Sam’s Story) based on the critically acclaimed book of the same name written by Capt. Elmo Jayawardena that won the Gratiaen Prize in 2001.
The event also marks the launch of MAF website www.moratuwaartsforum. The variety musical show “PUNSANDA PAAYA 2013” at 6.30 p.m. on Saturday July 13, 2013 at Holy Emmanuel Parish Hall will feature a large number of versatile stars of Moratuwa including Chandral (Kings), Chandani, Christopher Paul, Lankika and Chanaka (Golden Chimes), Lincoln (Super Pink N’Purple), Devshan and Michelle (Battery), Dr. Manella Joseph (Winslow six), Estelle Gunasekera and Sureshni Wanigasuriya (Ex-Xperiments), popular actress Dinakshi Priyasad, Devashri de Silva, Nihal Nelson, Somasri Fernando, Meril Fernando, Anuradha, Thilak and Nihal (Niro), Saman De Silva, Clinton Fernando, C.L. Fonseka, Lilanthi Jayaratna, Rukshan Perera, Shenya Naphthalie, Lakruwani (Super Star fame) Sureni de Mel and many more.
Musical comedy skit by Don Guy, Chinthaka Peiris and Sankalpa along with Tennison Cooray are also in the list while dancing performance are to be presented by Janadari, Jayagra, Rupika, Varuni and Kanaani with their teams. Latin American Dancing by Roshan Dancing School and music will be provided by “Lucky Deva with Spirit”. Tickets are priced at Rs.1000/-, Rs 500/- and Rs.300/-.
