The Bishop’s College auditorium came alive last month with a‘Flight of Flamboyance’, an evening of entertainment, presented by the students of the Varuni Jayasekara Academy of Speech, Drama and Communication.

The evening showcased an array of Dramatic selections, Choral work and Musicals, performed by students from the age of 4 to 27 years and took the audience on a Flight of Flamboyance from the streets of London to the land of Oz to the Jungles of India and forests of Sherwood.

‘Un-identical Twins’, ‘Ambition’ and ‘A New Style’ were some entertaining skits that enlivened the programme. ‘The Importance of Being Ernest’, ‘Cameos from the Bard’ featuring some of Shakespeare’s famous heroines – but with a twist, and a medley of songs from some well loved Musicals wound up an enjoyable and entertaining evening.
