My birthday

My birthday was on May 30. I got lots of lovely presents from my mother, father, brother, grandmother and friends. I gave small gifts to my friends too. In the evening I went to the Children’s Park with my cousins and family members.  I enjoyed there very much. After that, I cut my cake with my family members. That was a memorable day in my life.

Library

In a library you get a variety of books. There is a section for books like Science, Maths, Dinosaurs and Storybooks. You can borrow books if you want to read at home. There are some books that you cannot borrow that are called reference books. You get libraries in schools or else you can go to a public library. If you are going to a library you need to have a membership card. In the library you have to be quiet.

My grandma

My grandmother’s name is Nalani Thatatha Rupasinghe. She is living in Texas in America. She came recently to Sri Lanka. Last week she visited us. She is kind and good. She is very beautiful. She is very fair but she is not tall at all. She is my mother’s mum.

She had brought dresses, shoes, necklaces and a beautiful wristwatch for my sis and also I got some crayons, alice-bands, a bunny and chocolates. I want to thank her and I love her too. May the Triple Gem bless her and I wish her a long life.

Her birthday is on June 24 and I wish her a very Happy Birthday.

My ambition

My ambition is to become a teacher. It is the noblest profession in the world. The teacher does a great service to the society. He produces well-disciplined and useful citizens.

People who choose teaching as their profession are fortunate because they can serve the country and also earn a living at the same time. The future of the younger generation depends on the education they receive. The teacher guides them in the correct path.

Teaching is not a monotonous job. Unlike working in a miserable place like a hospital, the teacher is always with the young ones with smiling faces. So he spends his time happily. The teacher is respected by everyone. He leads an exemplary life. Because of these reasons, I like to be a teacher.

Dreaming

I once dreamt about Ninja Hattori. It was fun. When you are half asleep, you start to dream. When you are dreaming, you will see bad dreams. Those are called nightmares. When you see good dreams, you call those sweet dreams. Sometimes you laugh and cry in your dreams.

I love to dream.

All that glitters is not gold

Gold is a bright and shining metal. There are other metals which are equally shining and bright but they have no quality. Similarly, there are many things in the world which are not what they seem.

This is true of human beings also. There are many persons who seem to be good persons but they do many evil things. So, we cannot judge a man from his appearance. An innocent looking man may be a cheat. A man with a smile on his face may do some harm to us. A man, who says that he is our best friend, may stab us in the back. We should not be mislead by the outward show.
