Manufacturing Management Students Visit Toyota and Nissan Factories in Thailand

A group students following the Master in Manufacturing Management programme of the Faculty of Graduate Studies of the University of Colombo, visited Toyota and Nissan factories in Thailand during the first week of this month to obtain a critical insight as to how two world class manufacturers conduct their day to day manufacturing operations and strategize for the future. The students who participate in thesestudy tours are senior or middle level managers working in Sri Lankan manufacturing organizations, and this course, which first commenced in 2004, has inculcated in them the skills necessary to take strategic decisions in the manufacturing sector.

The Sunday Times of 17 March 2013 and the Daily Mirror of 22 March 2013 carry notices calling for applications for the tenth intake to this programme of studies. The closing date for applications is 31 March 2013 and particulars relevant to this course may be obtained from the Deputy Registrar (071-1665665, 011-2502127) of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Colombo.
