The Indian Education Fair which will be held on 02nd and 03rd March for 03rd consecutive time at the BMICH, on 05th and 06th at Jaffna and 08th and 09th March at Kandy will cater to demand for higher education of Sri Lankan student population. The event which is organized by the Educational consultants India Limited (EdCIL) will have the support and patronage of the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka. Presidential award winning exhibition organizers, Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services Ltd (LECS) will partner in organizing this event which would help strengthen educational ties between the two countries.

Mr. Dinesh Udenia the Second Secretary Education of the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka said, that many Sri Lankan students interested in higher education opportunities in India and therefore Edcil – Indian education fair will be a fantastic opportunity for students to directly interact with representatives of Indian universities and colleges. Further, he mentioned “Apart from the exhibition at Colombo we organize exhibitions at Jaffna and Kandy to cater the higher education needs of outstation students.”The Second Secretary went on to say, “We have seen Indian degrees are well recognized not only in India but also in Sri Lanka as majority of students who are educated in India are well placed in public sector as well as private sector in Sri Lanka”.

The very fact that students can meet, interact, consult and explore the opportunities for themselves is a key component that the Fair wishes to promote. The student will have the opportunity of meeting representatives from over a hundred affiliated colleges and due attention to the students needs to0 inquiries. Mr.Sudesh Lenodara, Project Manager on behalf of LECS said, “We will organize an exhibition in Kandy for the first time under the patronage of Assistant High Commission of India and it will provide invaluable exposure for students in the hill capital in pursuing quality education in the neighboring country for affordable prices ”.

Thus the partnering of these elements is set to bring in a new dimension to the student population in Sri Lanka. The Indian Education Fair will provide for all educational needs relating to institutes and Colleges in India. It will indeed be the one stop shop for a comprehensive overview on the opportunities that lie beyond the shores of our Island.
